Highpoint Drive
Highpoint Drive started out with some friends in a local bar in Newark, Ohio. After some garage sessions and a few late night jam sessions, they decided to take the show into the bars around town to see what the response would be. It was overwhelming!! In fact, once the band began gigging, they haven’t been able to get a break. Bars are asking them back as soon as they’ve counted up the liquor sales. To quote one bar owner “You guys made my Month!!”. That’s because Highpoint Drive has two main objectives: Have Fun, and “Sell a lot of Beer” . They’re not out to sell CD’s or push their originals. This is the key to the local success. The band focuses on Classic Rock, with a lot of funk to get the dance floor moving and keep it moving. Beer toasting and sing-a-long songs are a big part of the sets.
Highpoint Drive is made up of musicians from all different backgrounds, from the bass players “The Demons” days in the 60’s playing covers from the likes of The Rascals and The Beatles, the drummers years of experience opening for acts like Bette Midler, and the lead guitarists bar band experience through the 80’s and 90’s playing covers from bands like Rush and Kiss, and cutting several original Albums. Highpoint Drive knows how to please an audience!!
